Brick cottage front with black front door, arch windows and shrubbery

Islington

The polite late Georgian gault brick cottages and town houses located in the Barnsbury Conservation Area of Islington are extremely important and full of character. In the heart of Barnsbury is a street of cottages, and as the hill gently climbs, the best preserved of these can be found. No. 18 is one of the few Islington Cottages that remains as a single house and retains a large private garden, and it rightly deserves its Grade II listed status.

While imposing, the house is little more than one room deep and, understandably, our clients have engaged us to produce proposals for the extension of their home. Following early discussions regarding accommodation needs and stylistic options the measured survey is in hand and we are now commencing the sketch proposal process.
